Nourish & Replenish
A restorative day to rest, reconnect and reset with horses
Do you spend your days caring for others?
Whether supporting clients, students, family, your community, or managing the demands of everyday life, it can be easy to place your own wellbeing last. Over time, continually giving and showing up for others can leave you feeling depleted.
Nourish & Replenish offers a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and receive support.
Set in the peaceful surroundings of Edenhope Homestead, this restorative day invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect through time in nature, gentle interactions with our herd of horses, and simple mind-body practices that support wellbeing and nervous system regulation.
This workshop is facilitated by Lindy Spanger, Clinical Psychotherapist and PACFA Accredited Supervisor with over 20 years’ experience, together with Michelle Brooks, Certified Practising Counsellor (PACFA) and Certified Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner. Their combined experience in psychotherapy, embodied practice, and equine-assisted learning creates a safe and reflective space for connection, renewal, and growth.
No horse experience is needed—just a willingness to slow down, be curious, and be present.
Caring for ourselves is not selfish—it helps us continue to show up for others with greater balance and presence.

Why Horses?
The Wisdom of the Horse
Horses have a unique ability to invite us back into the present moment. As highly attuned and relational animals, they respond to our body language, energy, and quality of attention, offering us an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and notice what is happening within ourselves.
Research into human–animal connection suggests that being with horses can support feelings of calm, connection, and wellbeing. Their steady presence and regulated way of being can provide a model for us to notice and explore our own nervous system responses.
Healthy horses naturally move through cycles of activation and restoration. They ground themselves, release tension through movement and shaking, and return to states of calm through simple rhythms such as grazing, resting, and connection with their herd.
Spending time with horses invites us to reconnect with these same qualities within ourselves—the ability to pause, regulate, restore, and return to balance. Through this embodied experience, we can develop greater awareness of our own body wisdom and discover practices that support ongoing wellbeing.
