Our Approach

Inspired by the remedial properties of the natural environment, our therapeutic approach blends counselling and psychotherapy amidst a human-with-nature experience including animal interactions, open-air seating, and forest bathing.

Why? Because nature heals. And because we, like nature, are forever changing, growing or renewing given the right conditions.

Our therapeutic interventions are designed to support your ability to find safety whilst sensing into the “here-and-now", and when ready, deepening your awareness of the ‘self’ and developing the resilience and skills to move forward with hope.

At Edenhope, our aim is for you to feel enlivened by nature, take respite in its restorative energy and depart with an added sense of being and belonging.

It changed our relationship with ourselves, and we hope it does the same for you.

Our therapeutic approach

Our therapeutic approach incorporates person-centered, humanistic methods including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Focusing Oriented Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and more.

We also integrate somatic experiencing to facilitate trauma recovery by guiding clients to observe and connect physical sensations with their cognitive and emotional experiences in the present moment.

All our work is centred on a trauma informed model of care.

Our Promise

Ethical

We adhere to professional codes of conduct including confidentiality. We care for and respect our animals, the environment and our community in which we belong.

Certified

Our staff are highly qualified in their fields of specialisation. We aim to continuously improve through supervision and training.

Unique

Your experience connecting with the therapist, horse, open space, and earth can penetrate and resource you like few other therapeutic experiences.

Person-centred

Our imperative is to attune with you and become a fellow traveller alongside you. We listen. We hear. We gently enquire with compassion. And we hold space to allow the inner shifts to occur naturally.
