Kylie Wenzel

Kylie has dedicated over three decades to working in education with teenagers, both in Australia and internationally. Throughout her career, she has specialised in student wellbeing, focusing on supporting young people who have experienced trauma, adversity, or neurodiverse challenges. She has worked extensively in rural, and urban communities, helping students build resilience, develop emotional regulation skills, and strengthen their sense of self.

With a deep belief in the healing power of human-animal connections, Kylie has played a pivotal role in coordinating and integrating animal-assisted therapy programs within school environments. She has designed and facilitated equine-assisted and canine-assisted interventions, using these unique approaches to help young people develop trust, emotional awareness, and meaningful connections in a safe and supportive setting.

Kylie’s professional development reflects her deep commitment to therapeutic, experiential learning. She has trained with the Equine Psychotherapy Institute as an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator, integrating her expertise in education and wellbeing with equine-facilitated approaches to personal growth and emotional regulation. She also holds a Certificate in Applied Gestalt Practice from the Gestalt Therapy Association and is currently undertaking the Advanced Clinical Training in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy. This further enriches her understanding of relational dynamics, self-awareness, and the integration of mind, body, and emotions in healing and personal development.

Now, through Equine Assisted Learning, Kylie provides a safe and attuned space for individuals to explore their emotions, develop confidence, and build stronger connections—both with themselves and those around them. Her work continues to be driven by compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the unique journey of every young person she supports..
